Altitude sickness can occur above 8000'.  Please be sure to be prepared to turn around if you find that you are experienceing any symptons of altitude sickness. We will discuss this further in your consultation.  These are not technical climbs but they are fully exposed without shade and carrying appropriate water and gear is necessary. Consider consulting with your physician prior to climbing/hiking above 8000’

• VIsas- There are no visa requirements for US citizens. You will need a valid passport on entry.
• Safety- The Guatemalan government has taken great care to imporve safety fo rits visiotrs.  THere is an increased risk to all travelers and it is necessary to be mindful in all of your surroundings. 
• Currency- It is recommended that you do bring a small amount of QTQ to smaller towns as they don't always exchange is best made at the airport or  at your bank. Plan accordingly. Credit is always accepted when available. 
• DO NOT BRING: recreational drugs, arms or ammunition including knives, food items.  
• Make sure all prescription medications are labeled with your name on the original bottle. 

This will be an unaccompanied getaway.  All group experiences will be provided by reputable tour opperators in Guatemala.  Montana HIking Gal will  have a representative available to accomodate the changes in itineraries and to assist guests with transfers and logistics.  We highly recommend trip insurance, travel medical insurance.  Each guest will sign a liability waiver and will agree that they have the fitness and ability to perform all tours and excursions.
